Richard “Rick” Dean, Husband of Kristin Kay, Passes From Cancer | Kristin Kay (Kristin Kay Band) Re: Her husband Richard Dean: Rick passed away in peace last night. I am so glad he doesn’t have to suffer the physical pain anymore. He truly was the love of my life, my Marlboro Man and my heart is aching, yearning for his presence. We had an amazing life together and I miss him so much already. I don’t know that I will ever be the same. https://www.facebook.com/kristin.kay.7505
(Previous, June 5th : I’m so grateful to all of you for the well wishes, prayers, contributions and support. I just wanted you to know I feel the love and am doing my best to convey to Rick how much love and support he is receiving. It is an extremely difficult, heartbreaking time and I am sure there will be more to share later. For now, I thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart. )
Per the Meal Train fund-raiser: The last month has been very difficult. As I had shared with you in the previous message, the plan was to start radiation treatments. Unfortunately, Rick had to return to the hospital on May 14th because his pneumonia was not resolved with the first round of antibiotics. He was also extremely anemic. The doctors were able to get things under control, but the illnesses took a major toll on his body, and he never completely recovered. It is hard to say exactly what has caused such a drastic decline so quickly, but it would be fair to say the cancer, as aggressive as it is, has played a major part. Therefore, starting today, Rick will be placed on hospice care here at home. We thank you all so much for your encouragement and support over these last couple of years. To have you there has been vital, meaningful and significant and we will forever be grateful. We will continue to carry hope in our hearts while facing the challenges before us, and feel confident in knowing that our remaining journey – however long – will be filled with love and happiness. Much love to you all, Rick and Kristin |

John R. Todd: Sadly a beautiful human has transitioned to another realm. He was a very kind man, I don’t believe I ever heard him raise his voice. He was a gentle soul; the world lost a light. Please pray for Kristin Kay and family at this time.
Mark Yoakam: I’m seeing a lot of love from the Denver music community for you guys. It warms my heart.
