By Julianna Salinas, The Mirror US | Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka died on Friday, February 27, at the age of 86 after being rushed to the hospital. The Breaking Up Is Hard To Do hitmaker was hospitalized in Los Angeles shortly before his death after his family called emergency services requesting medical assistance.
After beginning his music career in the mid-1950s with the doo-wop group The Tokens, the singer had multiple solo hits in the 1960s, including Oh! Carol and Calendar Girl. Throughout his decades-long career, Neil was nominated for five Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983 and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
