By Sam Gillette, People | A 24-year-old musician, who also worked as a welder and fabricator, died after he was reportedly injured in a workplace incident in Ohio.
“One of the greatest banjo players to ever live,” Myles Gee told Fox affiliate WXIX of his friend, Parker Lisle, who died at a medical center in Cincinnati on Thursday, July 16.
The day before, on Wednesday, July 15, the 24-year-old suffered severe burns following a reported “explosion” at Greenacres, an employee said, according to the report.
A worker, now identified as Lisle, was using a plasma machine to remove the top of a drum that had previously held paint when it exploded, according to call records reviewed by WXIX.
Greenacres, a former “gentleman’s farm” that is now open to the public, confirmed Lisle’s death in an announcement posted on its website.
“The Greenacres community suffered a tremendous loss this past week with the passing of our beloved teammate, Parker Lisle,” the nonprofit said. “While words cannot fully express the sorrow felt by those who knew and loved him, our hearts are with his family, friends, and coworkers as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”
