In Memoriam|

Photo: Miss Fredi | From Karen Gerdine: This writing comes with heavy heart, as it is never easy sharing the news of a loss of a friend. Miss Fredi of Fredi and the Soul Shakers, and long time member of the Denver music scene, passed away a few weeks ago. The Colorado Chapter of the Singers Society mourns the loss of a Charter member and leader of Women in the Music Industry.

From Legacy.com: Frederica Robinson,59 left her earthly home on October 22, 2023, to be with Jesus and his angels. She leaves to cherish her memory, Mother Margaret Johnson, Son Eric Coleman, daughter in law Jeresa Coleman, Daughter Leilannah White, 6 grandchildren, and a host of aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service was held on Tuesday Oct. 31, 2023.

From the Soul Shakers: A little note here, Fredi was not the first female singer we had. We tried a few… one even lasted for an entire show 🙂

From Erica Brown: I am sharing this devastating news from Sis Sheryl Renee’s page. I cannot believe it. Frederica “Miss Fredi” Robinson was a beloved Icon on the Colorado Music Scene with her band The Soul Shakers until she moved to be near her Mother [in South Carolina]. I would often read with much respect her posts, and enjoy her frequent “Church Flow” clothing style posts as she stayed in touch with us here in Colorado.

I send my deepest, deepest condolences to her Mother and Family, and to all in her Colorado Music Family. I’m just gutted. Lord, Have Mercy. Please donate if you can.

From Sheryl Renee: I am so saddened to share that my longtime sis-star Frederica “Miss Fredi” Robinson passed away and has joined her beloved “brubbie” Sheldon, and her dad, Matthew. I can honestly say in the 45 years that I knew Fredrica, I can only remember her smiling face and loving hugs. I still laugh when I think of her onstage with her band, Fredi and the Soul Shakers, and the items she could make “miraculously appear!!” (If you know…you know!)

She loved the Lord, was fun, loving and didn’t take herself too seriously.

They’ve [the family] started a gofundme, and any help you can give to her children Eric & Leilannah and her mom, Margaret, will be so appreciated. She was having some health issues, but her death was definitely unexpected and devastating.

God bless you, my friend. We always said “I love you” so you know that will never change. Rest in Paradise.
