(Photo by Mike Olafson) | The Memorial Service for Gene “Gino” Horne will be at Hoy-Baker Funeral Home Tuesday, December 7th at 1:00 p.m., 6345 North Ivanhoe Street, # 103, Commerce City, CO. Come and say farewell to a great guy. A truly talented soul that shared his abilities with everyone interested.

We’re All on this journey together, so you don’t have to know him to take time to acknowledge him!!

Clarence Cage: When Alana called me with the news of Gene’s passing I lost it!! Gene (Gino) played in bands that I’d formed as well as with The Sugar Bear Band. We were the best of friends. Usually easy to get along with and always wanted to sound the best we could regardless where!

Dedicated, dependable and with a very unique way of playing bass. He would “Pat” his strings creating the most percussive sound imaginable! An all around great guy who loved his daughters, music, friends and motorcycles as much or more than any friend I’ve ever had. I truly wish this was just a bad dream, but every time I think about it, my heart hurts for my buddy, and I know that his being no longer in pain doesn’t seem fair…as much I hurt now. Selfish… yeah, I know. But, when you suddenly lose something or someone that means a lot to you, simple labels like selfish, etc., mean very little! I miss you already buddy, and I hadn’t seen you in a few months. It’s hard but, like I tell everybody else…just try to remember the great memories of gigs we played together, those nights with that Blunt after loading up or that BBQ we always talked about but never really got around to.

Rest easy, My Friend, and I’ll See You on the other side – just hopefully not too soon, huh?!
