Willie Alexander: Today I am sad my friend Dwayne Burrell has passed on. He gave death a fight many times but this time death won. We’ve been friends since college at SIU over 50 years now. I just saw him in May in Los Angeles. You never know when the last time you will see someone. So Rest in Peace, my Friend. The fight is over.
Carolyn Rae: Dwayne was a beautiful soul and music percussionist. I met him in early 70s Boulder at JJ McCabes. Glad to have known him. My condolences to his family.
