Cissy Houston’s Heartbreaking Letter To Late Daughter Whitney Houston Goes Viral After Her Death At 91

Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, died in hospice care from Alzheimer’s in her New Jersey home on October 7, 12 years after her daughter drowned at 48.

After her daughter-in-law announced her death, Cissy’s heartbreaking tribute to her daughter, written in the funeral program and posted by TMZ, reappeared.

In the letter, Cissy praised Whitney for “giving without expecting anything in return.” She expressed gratitude for the 48 years she had with her daughter and claimed that the Holy Spirit had told her Whitney “wouldn’t be with me long.”

She continued, sharing that before she found out about Whitney’s transition, her doorbell rang several times even though no one was there. “You promised me you were coming to spend time with me after the Grammys. I believe the spirits allowed you to come after all.” Cissy concluded the letter by declaring her deep love for Whitney.
