In Memoriam|

By Ashley King, Digital Music News | Tommy DeCarlo, lead singer of the rock band Boston since the 2007 passing of original singer Brad Delp, has died after a battle with brain cancer. He was 60. His family confirmed the news in a Facebook post shared on Monday.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Dad, Tommy DeCarlo, on Monday, March 9, 2026,” the statement begins. “After being diagnosed with brain cancer last September, he fought with incredible strength and courage right up until the very end.”

“During this difficult time, we kindly ask that friends and fans respect our family’s privacy as we grieve and support one another,” their statement continued. “Rest in peace, Dad.”

Following his diagnosis, DeCarlo’s loved ones set up a GoFundMe to cover the cost of his treatments. It had raised over $56,000 as of Monday. The GoFundMe revealed that DeCarlo had suffered a brain bleed back in September and underwent an emergency craniotomy, which revealed two melanoma masses on his brain, as well as another spot on his lungs.
