In Memoriam|

Photo: Andy Pfeiffer selfie | Local guitarist Austin Ross writes: When I first moved back to Denver in 1990, I put together a badass original band called High Class Trash. We were well received and played lots of fun shows. Andy Pfeiffer was our bass player, and a major part of that band’s sound. We lost touch over the years, but reconnected within the last 10 years. Even re-recording an old high class trash song, with him playing drums and bass and me doing vocals and guitar. You will be missed my friend. The Denver music scene has lost a legend. Brian Patrick Hagman: this has been a summer full of sadness & grief, & the news of Andy’s departure knocked my breath out , already stumbling from some other recent catastrophic losses. Grief has been abundant in recent years, but, so much joy & gratitude to ever know these that we mourn, these that were so much a part of our lives, I could wrap myself in their memory as long as I draw breath & never run out of things to love.

I met Andy in the 80s a dynamo of ris & punchlines with a smiling face & serious devotion to rock and roll… he’d listen to ppl talk intently, nod, and frown like Deniro gesturing “ sounds good to me?”.. I’d run into him at shows or wherever young ne’er-do-wells are found… Our good friend Nick Dixon (rip) also recognized our eclectic haunts in common: death metal, house music, punk, goth , hardcore, jungle, acid jazz , whatever we vibed with… Nick introduced me to Nick Miller during a drunken brawl at a party, he became my drummer in Fast Action Revolver, and we merged outings with all of the friends often… One night after the concept of “ Lambs” was fleshed out around the pbr & powder, I went to a bachelor party at Shotguns & saw Andy in beautiful “Venom” black metal Tshirt, he insisted I have it, and we stripped there on the floor of the bar and traded gear… We became fast friends and one afternoon I was side stage at an epic Blister 66 show at fiddlers green where Andy pulled me up to watch as a sea of people jumped in unison. Later we talked music & I invited him to see Alabama Thunder Pussy, the rest is history… with Andy, the heavy dope rock concept got turbo charged and super-sized… we built a studio in his Commerce City warehouse, bought kegs every other day, and basically lived there rehearsing , recording, and raising a hell that we had only ever daydreamed about.. I cherish those exciting , amazing days just following our hearts and being totally happy, but, lives change, priorities change, and ppl change… Andy is my brother no matter, for all my days and beyond… Rest Easy, Andy. I love you, bro.

Chris Dellinger: We traveled the country together. We were roommates on several occasions. We played in a number of bands together. Andy was one of my first real friends in the Denver music scene after high school. We fought over stupid drama with girls. We picked each other up when we were down. We rode the wave when the times were good and we felt invincible. Although we drifted apart over the years when ever we caught back up it was like a beat was never missed. We were the masters of reinventing ourselves. Andy was a beast on stage and had an infectious laugh and personality that left an impression on everyone he came across. Rest easy my old friend. Much love to all my friends. Here’s to the one and only A.F.P. Andy Fuckin Pfeiffer!

Additional Chris: Remembering Andy: Damion Alexander will be talking to Andy’s sister and they will go in whatever direction that suits Andy’s family best when it is convenient for them and there is time to plan accordingly and make sure folks from out of town can make it in. ~ Much love.
