Photo: Brian Connor | By Eleanor Tolbert, Irish Star | Brian Connor, an Irish pianist and composer, passed away on Saturday, just days after Christmas. The musician was renowned for his work with artists like Sinéad O’Connor and Eleanor McEvoy, as well as his contribution to the music in London’s West End and Broadway. He was the musical director of Riverdance – The Show and the National Theatre of Ireland’s Abbey100, according to HotPress.

McEvoy wrote a tribute to Connor on X. It read: “I am heartbroken that we have lost Brian Connor who died this morning. A wonderful pianist, a brilliant arranger & a consummate musician.

“We traveled the world & it was a privilege to work with him. He bore his long illness with incredible grace & fortitude. Farewell Captain.”

Connor produced the music for many singers across Europe in Ireland, Norway and Germany. He collaborated with McEvoy on her 2001 LP Yola, which won UK HiFi Album of the Year.
