It’s been a few decades since Wax Trax had a second location. It was a narrow storefront on The Hill in Boulder next to the Fox Theater that opened up in the 90s and closed in early 2000s. At that time the CD business was just starting to fall apart at the seams in the wake of Napster, Limewire, Bit Torrent, and other digital thievery. People were trading CD-R discs of all their favorite albums, and the vinyl racks were frequented only by the most hardcore of our regulars.
For whatever reason (perhaps something magic happened when we put our old Coke Machine back in it’s traditional spot at the corner store) vinyl is ascendant and gangs of skater kids are once again invading our aisles.
To test out new waters for our wares in this fair weather, Wax Trax is opening up pop-up shop we’re calling the Broadway Bazaar over at 200 S. Broadway on November 10. In addition to a miniature Wax Trax, there will also be a variety of vintage gear from one of our former collaborators on the 13th Ave Flea (who has been stowing goodies in their garage for over a year).
