From Julia Bryan: Hello beautiful souls. The last time I wrote to you, I was sharing updates about the podcast, the community app, my new nursing role, and launching my first EFT-tapping course. I was standing at the edge of a brand new chapter. Four months later, I am writing from a chapter I never could have imagined.
On February 1st, while driving to Los Angeles to begin the next season of my life, I was involved in a catastrophic collision with a semi truck just four hours from my destination.
I have no memory of what happened.
I was airlifted to a Level-1 trauma center in Las Vegas where I spent two weeks fighting for my life, followed by weeks of rehabilitation back in Colorado.
The collision left me with a traumatic brain injury, a collapsed lung, fractures throughout my shoulder, arm, ribs, pelvis, spine, and face, internal injuries, multiple surgeries, and an ongoing recovery that continues every single day.
In many ways, everything stopped.
The podcast stopped.
The app stopped.
The course stopped.
The move stopped.
Survival became my full-time job.
I found myself living inside the very questions that inspired The Sensual Soul Project in the first place.
How do we stay present when life breaks our hearts?
How do we remain connected to ourselves when our bodies no longer feel familiar?
How do we grieve what was while remaining open to what might still be possible?
How do we keep choosing life?
The last four months have been the most difficult of my life.
They have also revealed the extraordinary power of community.
Friends traveled across states to be by my side. Family rearranged their lives to care for me. Hundreds of people donated, prayed, shared resources, sent healing sessions, meals, music, encouragement, and love.
I am here because of that support.
Recovery remains slow and uncertain. My shoulder injury is severe. I am still navigating vision challenges from facial trauma and reconstruction surgery. My brain and nervous system require tremendous patience and care.
But I am healing.
I walked nearly four miles the other day.
I sing every day.
I am beginning to dream again.
And perhaps most importantly, the vision behind The Sensual Soul Project is still alive.
This experience has deepened my understanding of healing, grief, resilience, community, and what it means to come home to ourselves when everything we thought we knew falls apart. It’s been a violent roller coaster, with a steady (albeit slow) upward trend.
On June 21st, friends, musicians, healers, and community members are gathering for a Summer Solstice fundraiser to support the next phase of my recovery.
The evening will feature live music, community connection, and a silent auction featuring artwork, healing sessions, vacation packages, and other extraordinary offerings donated by people who believe in my healing.
If you’re local, I would love to see you there.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for staying connected through the silence.
And thank you for reminding me, again and again, that healing was never meant to happen alone.
With love and fire,
Julia
PS. If you feel inspired to help me spread the word about this event, my sister helped me put together a little blurb. Please feel free to modify as needed, and THANK YOU so much for your help:

The impact left her with extensive poly-trauma injuries including a traumatic brain injury, collapsed lung, multiple fractures throughout her body and face, and life-altering damage to her left shoulder and vision, with a long road of surgeries, rehabilitation, and recovery.
Despite extraordinary resilience and progress, Julia continues to face significant medical expenses and ongoing treatment as she works to reclaim her health, mobility, vision, and future.
