Thoughts and Prayers|

Iranian rap artist Toomaj Salehi was charged with ‘waging war against god’ in Iran [eee-ron] which carries a sentence that could be punishable by death. His family is devastated that his life is now at serious risk.

Reports say that he was kidnapped, arrested and charged with these crimes without access to lawyers — all in response to him creating music that speaks up for human rights and against the escalating violence in Iran.

As of January 23, 2023: Artists and people all over the world are adding their voices to this petition, asking for the UN to demand the release of Toomaj and all other innocent protest and political prisoners in Iran. Will you add your voice too?

Please share this petition for urgent medical treatment and immediate release of Toomaj Salehi

For more than 76 days, Toomaj Salehi has been kept in solitary confinement without access to his lawyers only for standing with the people of Iran and being their voice through his music.

For more than 76 days, he has not seen the sky even for seconds; he has been deprived of sunlight.

For more than 76 days, he as an artist who loves nature, sports and being with people has seen nothing but the cold and soulless walls of solitary confinement cells.

The harsh details of severe torture he has undergone during these 76+ days will be revealed after his release …

Artists shall not be in prison!

We demand immediate release and medical treatment for Toomaj.
