The Underground Music Showcase Will Require Proof of Vaccination or a Negative COVID Test to Enter. It’s the right thing to do, and the way we’ll be able to rock the way we want to. See you on Broadway in a couple of weeks. Why?
● It’s the safest way to rage on Broadway and gather for live music, and should give our guests assurance that this UMS will rock.

● It supports the future operations of our venues and shows from our artists at those venues.

● It allows venues to get back on their feet and continue to throw shows all summer and beyond, indoor or outdoor.

● It allows artists to throw the show they want, with no doubts or concerns about a packed house.

Vaccines + NEGATIVE TESTS Rock

UMS strongly encourages vaccines as the most effective protection against COVID.
Fully Vaccinated Attendees

An attendee vaccinated against COVID-19 by a two-dose mRNA vaccine (such as Moderna and Pfizer), or a single dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson), is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the final dose of vaccine (the second dose for a two-dose regimen, or the single dose for a single-dose regimen). Documentation of vaccination status must be shown with valid I.D. upon entry and available upon request at any time. The last day to receive the final dose of the vaccine in order to be fully vaccinated by UMS is August 13th.

The following are acceptable as proof of full vaccination:

● Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date last dose administered) OR

● A photo of a vaccination card as a separate document OR

● A photo of the attendee’s vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device OR

● Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider electronic health record or state Immunization Information System record.

● Matching photo ID required at the door.

Self-reported vaccination records that are not verified by a health care provider cannot be accepted.

If you are unable to locate your vaccine card, visit this website to learn how to do so.
Unvaccinated Attendees

Attendees unable to be vaccinated will be required to show proof of a negative Covid test within 72 hours or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours prior to attending UMS.

The following are acceptable as proof of a negative COVID-19 test result:

● Printed document (from the test provider or laboratory) OR

● An email or text message displayed on a phone or electronic device from the test provider or laboratory.

● The information provided should include name of person tested, type of test performed, and date of negative test result (for PCR test, date of negative result must be within prior 72 hours; for antigen test, date of negative result must be within prior 24 hours).

● Matching photo ID required at the door.

Self-reported negative test results that are not from a test provider, a laboratory, or a health care provider cannot be accepted.

There will be no separate sections or areas for vaccinated/unvaccinated attendees.

Masks Rock

Masks will not be required for guests at UMS, but are encouraged for indoor spaces, and for those who aren’t vaccinated. Working UMS staff will also be wearing masks in most cases for guests and their own safety.
Refunds

Those who aren’t vaccinated and don’t want to submit a negative test can request a refund, here.
UMS Venues & Partners

All UMS staff and on-site vendors will also comply with these guidelines. Venues are independently operated, as well as a lot of the adjacent businesses on Broadway, and therefore have the ability to enact further guidelines or rules that apply to their establishments. Please support them, and follow any more specific rules they have around masks or social distancing.
UMS Fan Health Pledge

● Within 14 days before attending the festival you have tested positive, or been exposed to someone who has tested positive for, COVID-19;

Live Nation’s Best Practices Policy

By Jem Aswad, Variety | As the live-music industry resumes operations while the Covid-19 variant spreads across the globe, Live Nation has issued a “best practices” document for venues that it owns, and for events it promotes at venues it does not own.

According to the document, which was obtained by Variety, Live Nation’s venues will require proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test for entry, and effective October 4, “all employees in the U.S. [must] be vaccinated to enter one of our events, venues or offices – with limited exceptions as may be required by law.” For events at venues it partially owns or does not own, it leaves the decision to the artists’ teams, where applicable. The document was signed by Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino.

Because Covid protocols vary state by state, practices for live events have varied as well. But as the variant continues to disrupt lives and livelihoods all over the world, Live Nation — the world’s largest live entertainment company — evidently has seen fit to put standard practices into place.

It has been great to see events make such a strong return across the U.S., with demand for concerts and festivals continuing to outpace our expectations.

LIVE NATION SHOWS

We are working to ensure we are reopening in the best way possible for staff, artists, crew, fans, and communities at large. Our teams have worked together to put new processes in place so that artists doing shows with Live Nation in the U.S. can require all attendees and staff to be fully vaccinated or show a negative test result for entry, where permitted by law. We believe this is a great model, and we have already implemented this successfully at many major shows including Lollapalooza. We know people are eager to return to live events and we hope these measures encourage even more people to get vaccinated. That is the number one thing anyone can do to take care of those around them and we are encouraging as many shows as possible to adopt this model.

AEG to Require Proof of Full Vaccination At All US Venues

By Alex Young, Consequence

AEG, the second largest concert promoter in the US behind Live Nation, is taking the dramatic step of requiring proof of vaccination at all of its US venues.

Whereas Live Nation is letting artists determine vaccine requirements for upcoming shows, AEG is making the decision for them: get vaccinated or you’ll be barred entry.

“We have come to the conclusion that, as a market leader, it was up to us to take a real stand on vaccination status,” said Jay Marciano, COO of AEG and chairman-CEO of AEG Presents, in a statement on Thursday.

“Just a few weeks ago, we were optimistic about where our business, and country, were heading. The Delta variant, combined with vaccine hesitancy, is pushing us in the wrong direction again. We realize that some people might look at this as a dramatic step, but it’s the right one. We also are aware that there might be some initial pushback, but I’m confident and hopeful that, at the end of the day, we will be on the right side of history and doing what’s best for artists, fans, and live event workers.”

“Our hope is that our pro-active stance encourages people to do the right thing and get vaccinated,” added Marciano. “We’ve already had to deliver bad news about JazzFest this week; I think everyone can agree that we don’t want concerts to go away again, and this is the best way to keep that from happening.”

AEG’s vaccine policy will go into effect starting October 1st. Up until that date, either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours will be allowable for entry.
