Photo: Richard Harris | It’s all about the suites at the Denver Concert Band’s annual Guest Artist Concert! Richard Harris is our Guest Artist for this concert. He has an eclectic career as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. As the former Assistant Principal Trombone of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, he’s been a guest with many of the U.S.’s top symphony orchestras including the Boston Symphony and the Metropolitan Opera. He has appeared on Grammy award winning albums and Oscar winning movie soundtracks.
In addition to being on faculty at University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, he teaches at the Raphael Mendez Brass Institute, the Idyllwild Summer Academy, and hosts his own low brass seminar “RichardTromboneCamp!” during the summers in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Our concert features pieces such as Clifton William’s Symphonic Suite, Eric Coates’ Knightsbridge March, and Alfred Reed’s Armenian Dances.
This concert will present the best of classical suites under the direction of Jacinda Bouton.
