Each year on June 21st, music is the focus around globe in celebration of Make Music Day. In 2012, Denver joined the list of cities bringing Make Music Day to their community. This year, the epicenter of Make Music Denver is at the Denver Performing Arts Complex and features two stages and two workshop areas that will feature programming throughout the day. Guest artists include Opera Colorado, Colorado Conservatory of Dance, Bevan Frost, aka laser bunny, ATOMGA, the Denver Uke Community, and Trunko, Kirkland & Kull.

Workshops and sing-a-longs are open to all levels of musicians. Workshop topics include ukulele, guitar, harmonica, paper instrument-making, guitar-making, and a live podcast by Martin Gilmore.
Make Music Denver is just one of the many ways that Swallow Hill Music is celebrating its 35th anniversary year. Our unique community has been built over the years by musicians and music lovers who appreciate the ability of music to bring people together in the classroom and on stage. The Make Music Denver event does just that, bringing people together through music and furthering both our long held value that music can be accessible and enriching for all, and our future hope to deliver more music to more people in more places throughout Denver and Colorado. By partnering with the Denver Theatre District and Denver Arts & Venues, Make Music Denver brings Swallow Hill Music’s experiential method of appreciating music north to the downtown Denver community.
