Interesting Bits|

By Spencer Kaufman, Consequence of Sound / Yahoo | Steel Panther continued their run on America’s Got Talent on Tuesday night (August 29th), competing in the qualifier round with a performance of their 2009 song “Death to All But Metal.”

The hair-metal band had to alter the song’s profane lyrics for the NBC broadcast, but it didn’t stop them from rocking the hell out of the tune. They got the whole audience to stand up on their feet and sing along to the chorus.

When it was all said and done, all the judges except for Howie Mandel gave the band a standing ovation. Heidi Klum remarked, “Look at this room — everyone on their feet, everyone screaming, I love how you rocked the stage,” while Sofía Vergara added, “I’m super excited for you guys. I think America is going to love you.”

The biggest praise came from Simon Cowell, who enthused, “I didn’t like it; I loved it. You take yourselves seriously because you’ve done this for a long time and it shows, and you don’t take yourselves seriously, which is what I like. They’re like KISS. I know we’re early on in the season. This has been my favorite live show act so far.”
