Each month COMBO features songs from mostly Colorado Songwriters on its website. These songs are gleaned by COMBO’s Board Member and Secretary Mark King from many sources including the internet but mostly from entries into COMBO’s annual Songwriting Contest.
This month’s songs include:
● “Air” – Citra
● “Family Name” – Open to the Hound
● “She Don’t Care” – Float Like a Buffalo
● “Trigger Finger” – Jack McCombs
● “Yr Eyes” – Mesita
Mark deserves a lot of credit for helping out unsigned songwriters by spending a lot of time listening to songs, uploading them, and featuring them. If you have a song that you would like to be featured on COMBO’s website, send him an MP3 to Mark@coloradomusic.org, along with a little information on the song.
And if you haven’t entered it into our Songwriting Contest, please do so. Information under “Songwriters’ Corner” on the COMBO website.

Winner of the DSE Entry from COMBO’s Songwriting Contest Has Been Drawn
One of the potential perks of entering the annual COMBO Songwriting Contest is the chance to win a free entry into the Durango Songwriters Expo which is being held October 4, 5, and6 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado. Jim Attebery has graciously donated the reservation award which is worth $350.
All the names of the people who entered the songwriting contest this year were – literally – put into a hat and two names were drawn by a third, non-biased party. The first name drawn has been notified that they won. If for some reason that person cannot attend the DSE this fall, then the second person will be notified.
We’ll get back to you with the results of that drawing on September 20th – no newsletter next week due to the editor being out of the country!
