Music Notes|

Facebook’s Denver Music Scene – Ricardo Pena, 1/23/22: I am sure I don’t have to tell all of you in this group how much bs, disrespect, abuse and crappy pay we musicians put up when we make a living out of our beloved art. I am sure all of you, even part time musicians, have put up with plenty! This is why I think it’s important to share precious and beautiful little moments like these. This note was just left in front of my door. I am still not sure which neighbor left it but I am going to try to find out!

I was sure the note was going to go: “We love your music BUT…” But the BUT never came!!!

These are the moments that remind me why I love that my job is adding more beauty to the world, making music to make people feel better and enjoy life more!

… I am so glad I am not a lawyer, or a fast food chain owner, or the owner of any large exploitative corporation, or a dentist or TSA officer or any other job that is not exactly bringing more joy to the world!

The note read: “Dear Neighbor. Thank you for playing so much music. Your piano playing reminds me of my dad and family from growing up and it always makes me smile. I had a really hard week so hearing you this Friday night really meant so much to me. Thank you for making me feel better. I’ve missed having music in the house.” ~ Your Neighbor
