During American Idol’s audition shows, Lionel Richie has come out with some wise words to the contestants.

This week’s Lionel-ism: When you are singing a duet with someone, it needs to be a “duet” – not a “duel”! (He said this to Monica & Miguela who were both obviously trying to out-sing each other, not make a beautiful song with two women’s gorgeous voices! Some of the duets, even with two women, were worth buying, i.e., two of the contestants singing about the same guy who did them both wrong). Now THAT was a DUET!!!
