Talent Needed|

Greetings! We wanted to let you know about our upcoming Music Theory Workshop: Understanding Keys, Chords, and Chord Progressions (Part 1). Understanding music theory allows singers and musicians to better understand the emotional journey and structure of a song, and helps us make informed musical choices to deliver more impactful performances. Attend this class to learn the fundamental elements that serve as a framework for songs, and deepen your ability to perform with musicality, versatility, and expression.

In this class, you will learn what key signatures, scales, and chords are, and how they are all connected. We will also cover how basic chord progressions work, and what “dominant” and “subdominant” mean. We’ll explore these concepts at a basic level, and then apply them in a handful of different keys to make the concepts come alive. If you have a portable keyboard or guitar, we suggest bringing it so you can play along.

This will be offered in a hybrid format, both in person and online. It will be taking place in Denver, but you can also Zoom in for your convenience. Or if you can not make the scheduled time, register and let us know, and we will send the video replay directly to you!

When: Tuesday Sept 30, 7:30 – 9:00 pm, plus an optional 30-minute hangout after class
Where: PH Denver / Online
Instructor: Nate Marsh
Cost: $35, or FREE with PH Flex Pass
