Matteo Tangkas Makinen, born March 6, 2020!
I would like to introduce you to my new son Matteo Tangkas Makinen who was born on March 6 in Denpasar, Bali only 6 hours after I landed! He held out for me to arrive and for his mother Lohde and I to eat dinner, then he came quick: 4 minutes after walking into the hospital.
We are healthy here in Bali but it appears that we may be stranded here indefinitely and, like many musicians on the planet now, I have lost all of my gigs and income due to the virus…
Before leaving the states however, I uploaded a rough cut of my feature length documentary JazzTown. It is a colorful and entertaining film that features many of Colorado’s finest musicians with a few very special guests! This film has been 10 years in the making, is self funded, and I have done everything on it from the directing, cinematography, and editing to the film scoring. (All the bloopers are all my fault!??) Vlad Girshevich plays the stunning piano pieces that serve as bookends to the film.
Now I need your help:
