Country Music Man Jim Hyatt writes: Hi to all my friends! I would like to invite everyone to Heroes, located at 10217 Quivas Street (inside the VFW), Thornton/Northglenn (f/k/a Dougie G’s). I have taken over this venue at Doug Gohr’s request and have been “Keeping it Country” in honor of all that he has accomplished in the many years he operated. I have made a few changes and there are more to come. I am very interested in keeping the personal contacts I have enjoyed with many of you.
● We have free dance classes on Thursdays
● Great bands on the weekends.
● Karaoke every other Sunday. I hope I can convince Doug to come back and host one of these events.
● Sunday Jam sessions. Come sing or play with our backing band. You will remember us from many Hall of Fame Events
● We have an Event Center that is available for parties, weddings, birthdays and any get together you can imagine. Our reasonable pricing is lower than our competition to give you the opportunity to celebrate with your friends and family.
● People are enjoying our food selections. We have been told “Your Chicken Tenders are the best”
● We keep the Dance floor hopping
Jim and the Band have been performing in the Denver area since 1985(40 years). We’ve worked with many of the stars such as Kenny Knight, who was a “Drifter”; Michael Martin Murphy, Eddie Raven, Gary Morris, a Del Viking, one of the Belmonts who started with Dion. Thanks to the CCMHOF we have backed many of the local favorites: Rudy Grant, Ryan Chris, Eric Golden, Lee Simms, Crispy Nelson, Marla Downer and many of you.
We have been CCMHOF band of the year seven times; also Instrumentalist, Male Vocalist, and recognized by the President Rocky Hoery. I am a past vice president and board member for CCMHOF
I want to take a moment and thank a few of the people who have helped me so far:
● Diane Johnson from Youngheart Band has offered her marketing and promoting skills
● Don Carlton from Renegade has become a great adviser to Heroes
● Brad Briley/ Dougie G’s Doorman and booking person who has become a great friend
● Butch from Trailside has shared insight from his dealings through the years
● Pete Luthman who has been my friend for over 20 years
● Randy Ketelsen and Maureen who have shared their business knowledge and friendship
Thanks to: Phil Helman, Clip Cookson, Chris Allen, Tony Ortega, Chuck Lettes, Mario Dobbs, Rudy Grant, Rocky Hoery, Kent Davis, Jeff Golden and many more for their kind words and friendships.
Come on out and let’s visit.
