Josie Quick: Two years ago our beloved silver maple tree in our front yard was struck by lightning, and it didn’t survive. It lives on, though, in this amazing violin made for me by my friend Eric Trujillo. He named it the Fire Tree Violin, the PERFECT name. Here’s a video of its first notes. And now I’m going to go practice.
