By Cindy In, ViewUs Global | (Guess Kim Jong Un decided that he needed to start his own music program since he couldn’t compete with South Korea’s!) North Korea’s state-run newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reports the country’s 2025 New Year celebration performance has drawn large crowds at Pyongyang’s May Day Stadium.
On Saturday, the newspaper detailed that the performance, divided into two parts, featured a diverse array of acts, including new hit songs that genuinely capture the sentiments of the entire population.
The program included female solo performances, ensemble renditions of “Song for the Motherland,” and mixed choir and male chorus performances of “We Are Koreans.”
On December 31, 2024, North Korea held the 2025 New Year celebration performance at the May Day Stadium on Rungra Island, Pyongyang. Kim Jong Un and his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, were in attendance. Since then, it appears that additional performances have continued.
