By Tom Beattie, Irish Star | The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has received 125 complaints in relation to Kendrick Lamar’s controversial Super Bowl LIX halftime show – which featured tennis legend Serena Williams. [125 complaints to 125 million watchers?]
The hip hop superstar garnered a staggering 125 million viewers, with the spectacle having gone down as one of the most-watched halftime shows in Big Game history. Lamar delighted those present at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome with a setlist brimming with hits from “Squabble Up” to “Euphoria” and “Man at the Garden”.
The rapper also performed “Luther” and “All the Stars” with SZA in what proved to be a memorable performance on the night that the Philadelphia Eagles earned the Lombardi Trophy. However, some 125 viewers were left unimpressed with the chart-topper’s performance of Drake diss-track, “Not Like Us”.
The 22-time Grammy Award winner refers to his Canadian peer as a “certified pedophile” in the official version of the song – but Lamar omitted those lyrics from his performance at the Super Bowl. However, he did not leave out though the line “Drake, I hear you like ’em young” and “Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor”.
