From Jock Bartley: SUICIDE PREVENTION BENEFIT in Evergreen, CO. on Feb. 13, 2025, my first one in many years. “Call On Me” is a song I wrote for ‘Suicide Prevention’ 20+ years ago. And for a few years because of it, I became a natlional spokesman for the cause, putting 2 benefits on in Nashville (with Michael McDonald, Wynona, David Pack, Rusty Young) and one in San Francisco (with Journey).
On this one we are focusing on helping ‘at-risk’ kids between 12 and 22 (with counseling, free musical instruments, encouragement & direction in whatever excites them, etc). This benefit will “raise awareness” in the community and raise some money, too. And STEVE WEINMEISTER will be joining me later for ‘Firefall Acoustic’ songs! It’s a worthy, feel-good cause!!
The way I’ve always felt, in the tragic big picture of the terrible national epidemic, is if we can reach & save ONE KID, pulling them back from the edge of oblivion.. THAT is a success!! One kid. Of course there are millions of ‘at risk kids’.. and we need to reach as many kids (and parents) as we can. Thanks for your help & support.

A founding and continuing member of Firefall, Bartley is known for his melodic, tasteful and fiery lead guitar style. He has performed with Fleetwood Mac, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, The Doobie Brothers, Dan Folgelberg, Journey, Heart, Poco, Nicolette Larson, and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, among others.
Firefall is on tour and currently finishing a new album, Friends & Family 2.
Performing as Firefall Acoustic with fellow band member Steve Weinmeister, Bartley will share stories about collaborations with some of Rock ‘n Roll’s greatest and talk about his long-time advocacy for suicide prevention. Bartley has worked with the American Association of Suicidology among others to put on benefit concerts to raise awareness, help fund the first national crisis line, and save lives. Bartley’s original song Call on Me, has become an anthem to raise consciousness about the growing mental health crisis and suicide, especially among young people.
