Photo: Deth Rali and Snarklet | By Duane Davis, Wax Trax | But despite the world ending, we are still managing to keep our vinyl cool down at the store, at least so far. This summer we have been doing a little re-organizing (check out our new krautrock section!) and we’re also focusing on growing our Sundays on 13th events.
Sundays on 13th has been slightly hampered this year due to our noise ordinance troubles (that are still ridiculously dragging on) but we have continued to have the flea market and shows on the block every week. To keep it quiet, two of those shows are at Bang Up to the Elephant (1310 Pearl St.) each month, and one is held inside the store, but we are hearing a lot of people asking for more sidewalk shows! Find the full schedule here.
Here’s hoping our new Mayor Mike Johnston has a little more love for neighborhood events like Sundays on 13th, or we’ll find some more outdoor locations on 13th, and maybe we’ll be back to more sidewalk music next year!
Read below some new stories about our history, a great new Denver act Sybil Attack, a Sundays on 13th vendor highlight, and a review of a new release from a crazy talented Wax Trax staff member!
