Have old piece or parts of musical instruments lying around?  Did you pull a “Pete Townsend” on your guitar? Don’t throw it away!  Give it to the Thornton Arts and Culture Center to help launch the 2016 Musical Conversations Program now.  The Thornton Arts and Culture Center is seeking immediate donations of useless musical instruments that will take on new lives as purposive art pieces.

Thanks to the vision and enthusiasm of the Thornton Arts, Sciences and Humanities Council, (TASHCO), 2016 will be a year of “Musical Conversations”; a program of expected and unexpected acoustic experiences throughout the City of Thornton in Colorado. (See: https://www.facebook.com/COTarts/events)

To kick off the summer “Conversations” musical instruments that are no longer playable will be decorated by local artists and displayed at the Thornton Arts and Culture Center (TACC). The exhibit will run in June and July 2016.

The artist reception is scheduled for July 24th, but your donations are needed now so the artists have time to produce beautiful painted or sculptures from what you would otherwise toss out.

Please call Lydia or Linda at 720-977-5885 or email Lydia.Hodge@CityOfThornton.net  to confirm your donation.

P.S. Look for the Call for Artists soon on our FB page https://www.facebook.com/COTarts/timeline.

There will be a “People’s Choice” vote to choose winning pieces.  Winning Artists will receive a modest cash prize and lots of bragging rights!
