Holly Smith of American Classic Piano writes:
1) I keep a database of piano teachers.
a) If you are looking for a piano teacher, contact me to see who I have in your area.
b) If you have piano teachers you love, contact me with their info so I can share it.
c) If you ARE a piano teacher, make sure I have you in my database as such.
2) When we are working to get you scheduled for tuning, keep in mind that no one generally has to be there as long as we can get to the piano. Not everyone enjoys listening to the tuning process. =)
3) If you ARE home during a tuning, there are a few things that make tuning a tad more challenging.
a) Ceiling fans in the direct vicinity of the piano cause a Doppler effect that distorts sound waves.
b) Bodies walking quickly back and forth behind the tuner can have the same effect.
c) Vacuum cleaners in the same room are troublesome.
d) Loud conversation near by for an extended period of time can slow down the process.
Shop updates:
1) We were able to extend our lease (per our amazing landlords, Stephen and Heather) before the building sold recently, so we have until the end of June to transition.
2) Our plan is to sell as many pianos as we can in the next few months at reduced prices. Tell all your friends!
3) We will then focus on restoration and preservation.
4) The current plan is to move from our 6000 sq ft location to 2100 sq ft on our own property in Conifer. We will keep you posted with renderings and photos as things develop.
5) It will be business as usual for tuning, tech work and player systems, so fear not!
6) Due to popular demand Warren will be doing a solo concert this spring (date TBD) with a number of fun things up his sleeves. Watch for details!
