Photo: Andy | CBS’s On the Road with Steve Hartman, presented the story of Gabe Scott and Andy Gullahorn, musicians from Nashville, who have pretty much gone for a walk at least once a week where they meet in the middle, clap, snap, and high five each other. This has been going on pretty much even during the rain and snow for the last 10 years – except when Gabe came down with encephalitis. Then he couldn’t remember anything about his life. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
Until Andy came to visit Gabe in the hospital.
Andy said, “I know this is going to sound weird, Gabe, but give me a ‘high five’” – and Gabe did! Gabe said his body just did an impulse thing and the little routine happened. At that point in time, Gabe’s memory started coming back slowly. Watch the video below for the whole story. But grab the tissue before you do…

Andy even wrote a song about the whole thing, Take a Walk With Me. Sounds pretty good! Would be neat if it went viral!
