October is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental Health is an issue that we all face at sometime in our lives whether it be ourselves or a family member or a close friend. One of the best ways to help is to say, “I’m needing help right now.” Even just a good hug helps to alleviate the pain associated with anguish or anxiety. But talking about it can help with a solution to a problem or just simply to calm the nerves.
COMBO Board Member Angela Whaley hosts a group to welcome all and to learn how to deal with a perplexing problem.
The next meeting will be held Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Youth on Record offices, 1301 W 10th Ave · Denver, CO.
How to find us:
YOR is right off the 10th and Osage light rail stop. Parking is limited, so if you intend on driving, please show up early. There will be a door ajar on the south side of the building.
We offer a safe space for musicians and those involved in the music scene to chat about successes or challenges they’re facing while participating in the music scene. We have a small handful of support agreements in order to participate:
– Practice self care
– Respect one another
– Make self for self and others
– Practice phone etiquette
– No ableist, homophobic, transphobic, racist, etc. language
– Keep an open mind and refrain from judgement
– Practice double confidentiality
– No rescuing please
After doing self check-ins and sharing successes and challenges we’re facing, we open up the discussion and share (or listen).
We look forward to chatting with you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
