Eminem becomes second best-selling male artist of “all time” (the Soundscan era, not all-time…)
Among all artists in that nearly 23-year Soundscan span, Eminem is in sixth place, dropping Strait to No. 7. Brooks is on top with 69.52 million. The Beatles are second (65.55 million) and Metallica third (54.26 million), while Mariah Carey sits in fourth (54.24 million) and Celine Dion (52.21 million) rounds out the top five.
In other words, according to Soundscan, the standings at this time are:
1. Garth Brooks
2. The Beatles
3. Metallica
4. Mariah Carey
5. Celine Dion
6. Eminem
7. George Strait
