By Brooke Williams, KDVR Denver || Famous hip hop producer Jimmy Iovine and rapper Andre Young, known as Dr. Dre, are partnering with Denver Public Schools to bring two new Iovine and Young Centers for Innovation to the Mile High City.

DPS said in a press release that the new centers will open at Manual High School and the Denver School of the Arts, offering an “interdisciplinary curriculum that blends design, technology, business and the arts to prepare students for the industries of the future.”

The website describes the Iovine and Young Center as “high school reconceptualized,” with a mission to shape learning environments that empower, inspire, and engage students and bring out their highest academic and creative potential.

It is the first partnership of its kind in the school district and even the state of Colorado, DPS said. DPS said the move positions the district as a national leader in reimagining public education.

Iovine and Young proved successful music careers and partnered as the founders of Beats Electronics, and are now making waves in education.
