Byron Shaw: I have this to say to all independent artists that never hit the road and toured for years straight. Um make a record make a video try to grow a fan base book a tour and hit the road, and see what happens. You will probably have stories that no one will believe. And maybe some money if you plan it right.
And sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.

Ras Marcus Benjamin:This year so far I have Mighty Mystic playing 80 shows. Plus another 15 shows booked for other bands. If a band wants to tour they must have a 2 year plan, 5 year plan. Start with building your state than become a regional act than Book 6-12 months in advance when building a tour. Have a good EPK build your followers across every platform plus put out a new album every 2 -3 yrs. Plus 3-6 new singles a year. That’s what venues, city shows and Fests are looking for. Then build your merch so you can pay for gas and food. Last but not least a good 12-15 passenger van. I’ve already booked enough shows for 2027 to build 3 solid runs.
Byron: I remember The College Music Journal was the key to booking college tours and a great way to engage the young generation
Kahlie Sue Pinello: Lots of the UK artists have gone independent.
They work within friendships on everything from recording, promoting all the way to merch.
My UK Gurl “Chinchilla” literally asked everyone at her last show to pull out their cameras, record & pass on the premier of her new recording.
That’s pretty Boss!!!
These musicians are on to something there & it’s working for them.
Pretty sure that the industry is built on the base of how much you “Need” them.
