For thirty-three years, the Country Showdown continues its tradition of supporting live country music and offering new country music talent across America the chance to launch their musical careers. With a Grand Prize of CASH and cash prizes at various levels, the Country Showdown is the best high stakes competition in country music with a uniform judging system.
As the Country Showdown’s search for excellence has grown, so has the number of artists who host and perform at the competition on all levels. Stars like Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Rogers, Lorrie Morgan, Reba McEntire, Lee Greenwood, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Billy Ray Cyrus, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tanya Tucker, Sara Evans and many others are part of this long tradition of helping new artists on their road to stardom.
From its early years through its rise to national prominence, the Country Showdown has offered at chance at stardom to some of the finest young talent in communities across America. And who knows what 2014 will bring? The next Martina McBride or Garth Brooks may be waiting in the wings, ready to claim the title: “Best New Act in Country Music.”
The Country Showdown is a four-level competition beginning in the Spring where contestants enter at their country music radio station. State competitions are held at fairs, theme parks and clubs for a $1,000 prize. The five regional events take place in the late fall. The regional prize is an all-expense paid trip to the National Finals to compete for the Grand Prize of $100,000 and the “Best New Act in Country Music” title. So if you think you have what it takes to be the next winner, you’ve found the right place!
