All of the artists who competed were outstanding, and the scoring was incredibly close all the way. There is nothing but respect for all the acts, and for the Denver blues community.

Wow, what an honor to be nominated in the “Best Folk Recording” category. As you know I am an oral storyteller and compose original music to sing after I tell the story. In 2006 I won the NAMMY for “Spoken Word”. To be recognized for my song writing ability is a wonderful dream come true.
There are so many talented artists this year; there is tough competion in all the categories. It is so exciting to see the American Indians sharing their talents with their very cool blend of traditional and contemporary work.
Good Luck to all the artists and those who can come out to NY. I’ll see you there! Wish me luck!
