Photo: Jeremy Dion (last year’s top scoring songwriter) Our 10th Annual Songwriting Contest starts this coming Monday, May 1st and will end promptly at 11:59 p.m. on August 1st. The judges will finish up, we’ll tabulate the scores and pick the top scoring songs to put on a CD for distribution to “real” record companies, publishers, Music Supervisors, magazine and newspaper reviewers, and several radio stations – both terra and net.
There is a $10 entry fee but if you are a dues-paying member of COMBO, you’ll get one free entry; bands will get two entries. You may enter as many songs as you’d like but we reserve the right to only put two of them on the CD which will be replicated by local CD/DVD/merchandise company CODA, Inc. | http://www.coda-inc.com
The Durango Songwriters Expo throws in a “scholarship” to the Expo in Broomfield, CO. Every entrant (individual name) is put into “the hat” and a name is drawn out to win that prize. Last year’s winner was Michael Hossler! He said he really learned a lot and really enjoyed the event.
