With deep and meaningful lyrics and encompassing the essence of blues, seasoned professionals Reckless and Blue released their first album Can’t Give Me the Blues on December 15, 2021. With decades of musical and performance experience, this album showcases a fresh and modern take on the blues with their original music. Celebration of this release will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at a free CD Release Party and performance at Table Public House in Denver, 2190 South Platte River Drive, Denver (Littleton) 80223.
Reckless and Blue was created by native Coloradoan George Williams in 2018, shortly after he moved back home to the Denver area. The name pays homage to his previous Denver-based rock and alternative band Reckless Abandon. Williams wrote the music and most the lyrics for the eight original songs on the album. His sister, Esther Williams, helped write lyrics for several of the songs. Most of the songs are about relationships gone bad and/or the longing for a lost love.
Members include Williams on guitar and vocals, Steve Gaskin on Drums and Paul Petersky on keyboard, both with jazz backgrounds, and bassist Bill Valdez.
