COMBO would like to congratulate Joy Iwancio on her new job as Director of Transgender Services for the Center on Colfax! Joy is also a gifted singer/songwriter/musician who has topped one of our songwriting contests with her song, “Who Took the Donuts Away”, a wonderfully poignant song about the loss of a small town’s favorite business. We are very proud of Joy for all of her accomplishments and wish her the best in her future!

Center on Colfax: We are thrilled to announce that Joy Iwancio (she/her) has been promoted to Director of Transgender Services!
Joy has been with The Center for over two years now, working as a Support Group Coordinator before moving into her new position. She has made significant contributions to the Transgender Program, implementing monthly social and educational programming in addition to helping organize and run the program’s 14 recurring support groups.
Joy attended her first support group 30 years ago in Baltimore and remains friends with some folks from that group today. She remembers how difficult it was to attend her first meeting and uses her experience to welcome new attendees to support groups and events at The Center.
