Photo: Jasco (from his website) As anyone who is in business for themselves knows, it can be difficult to get all the things done you think you should when you have to do everything yourself. I got so busy last month I forgot to put up a new warped cover video on YouTube. I’ll try to get one up soon.
But, what I did do, for the first time ever, is I put some of my tunes on Spotify. In previous bands I was in, we always had someone else do this for us. And I was always into the band instead of promoting my own music career. So I’m a bit behind the curve when it comes to releasing and promoting music in the digital music realm. But the best way to learn is to do.
So here is a link to my Spotify channel: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0CmkioR3bRNSoIU6NcVsPV
The seven tunes on my Spotify channel are original acoustic guitar instrumentals that are a mix of blues and Gypsy jazz (Django Reinhardt style) influences.
I’ve only got 18 followers as I write this letter. But every journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step. So if you’re a Spotify user, please follow me. Much appreciation for those who do. And if a lot of you start listening to my songs on Spotify, I’ll probably get some streaming royalty check for a dollar or two in a few years, and be well on my way to an early retirement.
For those of you in the Nashville area I’ll be playing this Friday (June 17) at the Moxy Vanderbilt with Allie Lamb’s LambJam duo at 8:00 p.m. And Sunday I’ll be hosting the open jam at Twin Kegs II 3:00 p.m.
Musically,
Jasco
