If you are a songwriter, or would like to explore song writing, make note of these in your area. We will not post this article but once a month; however, the dates will be posted in the Calendar for your convenience. Our workshop will now be held at the Covenant Church, 4965 Barnes Road; this is at the SW corner of Barnes Rd. and Iron Horse Trail – one block East of Barnes Rd and Oro Blanco. We’ll be using the fireside room which is at the back of the building. The church sign at the Barnes Rd. entrance is being changed so no obvious landmark, but you’ll easily see the building.
About the group:
Front Range Songwriter’s Workshop is a monthly get-together (typically the 1st Wednesday of the month) of lyricists and songwriters with the mission of improving their craft. Meetings typically include a discussion of music industry trends followed by presentation of works in progress. Presenters should bring ten copies of lyrics and/or music for review while presenting their work. We can usually play MP3 via phone/device as well. This is a diverse and highly supportive group welcoming all styles and levels of craft.

Join the Black Rose Acoustic Society for its monthly songwriter circle, led by Annette Conlon, a member and performer of the Society. The Songwriting Circle aims to provide guidance to new and existing songwriters in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas who are interested in learning about and experiencing the art of songwriting.
Every month, the class will feature a brief lesson covering various topics related to songwriting or the music industry. Additionally, there is a theme-based monthly songwriting challenge, where class members share the songs they have written over the month and discuss the inspirations and challenges they encountered while writing. Please note that performance skills are not required for participation.
When: Third Tuesdays, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Where: All Souls Unitarian Church, 730 N. Tejon St. Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Cost: As with jams, all we ask is a small donation at the end of the class to cover the rent: $5-$10 suggested.
Please bring your laptop/iPad and your cellphone, a notebook, a pen or pencil, 15 printed copies of your lyrics, and your instrument of choice.
