Rock ‘n Roll Society on Facebook: In 1989, Mötley Crüe released “Kickstart My Heart,” a loud, reckless song that sounded like everything people expected from the band at the height of the glam-metal era. Nobody could have known that more than three decades later, the song would still be reaching millions of listeners around the world.
Now it has officially crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Mötley Crüe celebrated the milestone on October 1, thanking the fans who kept the song alive across generations. “Kickstart My Heart” has now joined Spotify’s Billions Club alongside songs from some of the biggest names in rock history.
The achievement is remarkable because the song isn’t new.
It was released more than 35 years ago.
