DENVER — City Park Jazz is excited to announce our lineup for our 38th annual summer series! City Park Jazz is a “celebration of community” that began in 1986 featuring only local musicians. Sunday evenings throughout the summer sees anywhere from 8,000 to 12,000 neighbors from City Park neighborhoods — and all over Colorado —enjoying the amazing talent that calls the Centennial State home, all free of charge. A handful of carefully selected vendors and food trucks round out this family-friendly festival atmosphere!

“In our continuing tradition of exploring the incredible diversity of jazz as an art form, we’ve put together a great lineup for 2024,” says Andy Bercaw, President of the City Park Jazz Board of Directors. “We’ve got everything from soul to big band to blues to Latin and more. We’ve got 24 amazing food trucks, our new biergarten sponsor, 4 Noses Brewery, and the best sound production team in Colorado! This season’s gonna be fantastic!”

Our lineup this year features some of Denver’s most beloved performers, including Hazel Miller, Stafford Hunter, and Nelson Rangell! Additionally, we’ll be paying a special tribute to Bob Nelson and Tom Quinn — two of City Park Jazz’s founding Board members — as well as Denver Piano legend Neil Bridge, who all passed away in 2023. The tribute show will feature the Denver Jazz Orchestra. We’ll provide more information on that as the details firm up.

We’re also very excited to present our collectible 2024 season T-Shirt, which you can see online at https://www.CityParkJazz.org. This limited-edition shirt will only be available at CPJ concerts throughout the summer until we run out.

With all this excitement, we especially need concert volunteers and sponsors! City Park Jazz is a volunteer-run event (and a 501(c)3 charitable organization), and we need YOU to make it happen. Space is limited. https://www.CityParkJazz.org/volunteer2 for more information regarding volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, or to make a donation.

And finally, we are thrilled to welcome our new Executive Director to City Park Jazz — Deb Flomberg-Rollins, who brings with her decades of leadership experience in arts- and cultural-based non-profits. “Deb is going to help lead City Park Jazz into our next phase, working to secure major endowments that will position us to become a more active member of the jazz arts community in Denver, as well as launch and grow an educational outreach program,” Bercaw says. “Deb’s been handling our grant writing for four seasons now and is intimately familiar with the organization and our goals. She has the unique experience and institutional knowledge we need to embark on this next chapter of CPJ. We’re so blessed she agreed to sign on!”

This year, the season spans 10 Sunday evenings from 6–8 p.m. starting June 2, 2024. The free concerts are staged at the City Park Pavilion.* For more information, bios, and photos of each act, please refer to https://www.CityParkJazz.org .
