I am pleased to share with all of you that beginning in January 2017 Lydia McCoy will be Colorado Nonprofit Association’s new vice president and chief operating officer.
Lydia joins our organization after serving on Colorado Nonprofit Association’s board of directors for nearly seven years and holding the chair position since March of this year. Her understanding of and dedication to Colorado’s nonprofit community is extremely apparent in her volunteer commitments, as well as her more than 15-year career in the charitable sector. We look forward to Lydia shifting from a dedicated board leader to a member of the Association’s staff team, working to empower our state’s nonprofit community and increase our members’ capacity to achieve great things.
Lydia’s understanding of our state’s charitable sector will lend well to our long-term vision of leading Colorado to have our nation’s most effective, vibrant and innovative nonprofit community essential to the quality of life in our state.
In taking over as our new VP-COO, Lydia will leave her current role as executive director of Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation, where she led a team providing financial assistance to Coloradans with cancer. She previously served as executive director of the Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition (CCIC), a statewide health advocacy organization.
In addition to her volunteer involvement with Colorado Nonprofit Association, Lydia is also the past chair of National Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) board of directors. She has participated in the El Pomar Nonprofit Executive Leadership Program, was a member of the 2016 class of Leadership Denver, represented Colorado at the National Nonprofit Congress and was a fellow with Social Venture Partners Denver. She has presented at local and national conferences and has consulted on nonprofit capacity building, governance, advocacy and emerging leadership.
Lydia’s role as VP-COO for Colorado Nonprofit Association will involve many aspects of implementing our strategic plan, while also managing the delivery and effectiveness of our programs across the state. Lydia will officially join our team on Jan. 9. Please help me in welcoming Lydia!
Warm Regards,
Renny Fagan
President and CEO, Colorado Nonprofit Association
