By Yash Singh, Soap Central | Becoming Led Zeppelin is an upcoming documentary film that chronicles how Led Zeppelin became a major rock band. Bernard MacMohan is the director and has also written it with Allison McGourty. Its work-in-progress version was screened at the 2021 Venice Film Festival and is slated to be released in February 2025.
The official logline of the film reads:
“The film traces the journeys of the four members of the Stairway To Heaven rockers through the music scene of the 1960s and their meeting in the summer of 1968, culminating in 1970.”
When will Becoming Led Zeppelin be released?
Becoming Led Zeppelin had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2021. Despite the makers showing a work-in-progress, the film received a standing ovation from the audience that lasted for nearly ten minutes.
The film is expected to be released on February 7, 2025, in Canada and in the United States of America on IMAX. It will see a release in nearly 200 theaters in both countries. Prior to that, on February 5, there will be an early access screening of the film. [Rumor has it – on 99.5 The Mountain – that a preview of Becoming Led Zepplin will be shown at the Sie film Center on Monday, February 3rd. What is the plot of Becoming Led Zeppelin?
Becoming Led Zeppelin is the first film that the band itself has officially sanctioned. This means that the makers got cooperation from the band members. The film explores all the band members, including Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham, as they formed Led Zeppelin in the 1960s.
The film consists of interviews with all the cast members. John Bonham’s (who passed away in 1980) voice recordings have been used in the film to show his point of view. His recordings had not been heard before this film.
