Photo: From the movie Stop Making Sense | What a GRAND, fun, informative time at the Durango Songwriters Expo last weekend (held in Broomfield, not Durango)! So good to get to see long-time friends and to make new ones. Also good to catch up on the “business” end of music with new rules, regulations, and more on the Music Modernization Act. While the critiquers might have felt harsh, they dispensed valuable information to help songwriters with their songwriting skills. The next DSE will be held in Ventura, CA around the end of February, and the next one here in the Denver area in September 2024. https://www.durango-songwriters-expo.com

Update on the Elijah McClain trial: A doctor testified that he felt that Elijah died from the ketamine injection. The clothes Elijah was wearing were entered into evidence including his unusual shoes which a co-worker said he wore all the time (what has Elijah’s clothing to do with him being attacked in the way he was?) They were dance shoes which are light-weight and very comfortable. The prosecution is expected to wrap up their portion of the trial today.
