Photo: The super fun — and compassionate Carla Jordan! | Best, most loving, considerate, unselfish, and concern for the welfare of others’ post I’ve seen in a long time: From Carla Jordan (ex-Ziggie’s) on Facebook re the fires in Superior and Louisville and more: “Hey ya, our Boulder County friends. We have a good size house in Frederick and lots of room if you need to evacuate and need a place to go. Message me.” Carla is a SAINT!!!

How prophetic the quote from last week’s newsletter was! “Flowers grow back even after the harshest winters. You will, too.” – Jennae Cecilia | Of course, unknown to anyone on Thursday (when the newsletter came out) was the horror that was to happen here in our beautiful Colorado on Friday when a wildfire swept through the towns of Louisville and Superior and the surrounding grasslands. If you know of a musician who was affected by this fire, please let us know. Let’s “band” together (pun intended) to help our musician friends out. No thoughts, no prayers, no bleeding hearts – just cash donations to help them get back on their feet again. I’m pretty sure they not only lost their home but their musical equipment as well. Think of a carpenter losing their tools – can’t work without them. So it is the same with a musician. If each person on our mailing list would pledge just $10, we could put tools back into the hands of a needy musician. Or maybe you have an extra guitar or a keyboard you wouldn’t mind donating – let us know.

Sometimes music is the only thing that gets us through the really hard times. And sometimes those hard times are what gives songwriters the best ideas for songs. So take those lemons and make more lemonade and hope that we all stay well and that COVID finally goes away. Please – wear those masks whenever possible and get your shots. Protect your fellow musicians!
