Very interesting program on Monday night. Many thanks to guest speaker Mark McElwain of SoundTown who told how his business survived the 2020 Pandemic, how business is going now, and how important it is for musicians to “buy locally”. He also pointed out, especially when it comes to guitars and other musical instruments, how important it is to be able to hold the instrument in your hands, to be able to feel it, does it fit, and how (in the case of guitars and other string instruments) it sounds to you. Can’t get that by ordering online. Support your local businesses! Https://www.soundtown.us | The video is up now for dues-paying members to watch!

Thanks to Booking OMG for catching this Whoopsie: “I’m guessing someone has pointed it out but Rob Thomas is the singer of Matchbox 20, not 3 Doors Down. Matchbox 20 – really sweet! Have a great day!” That’s what happens when you’re up too late trying to get the newsletter out the next day. Thank you, Nick! Nice to know that someone reads the newsletter! 🙂

Update on Elijah McClain trial: The finger pointing begins. The two police officers on trial currently say the third police officer said that Elijah tried to grab his gun. The EMTs said that they only did what the police officers told them. Where was their common sense?

WOW! A Judge in Texas, who thinks for the majority, said that the ban on Drag Shows violated Freedom of Speech laws! YAY! Betcha that pissed Gov. Abbott off a BUNCH!

Prayers are asked for the band students, their families, their band director and their chaperone, in a rollover crash of their bus in New York. Right now, a faulty front tire, which is alleged to have blown, is being blamed for the accident.

Fun Fact: “Soft Kitty” is such a big part of The Big Bang Theory, but CBS and Warner Brothers were actually sued over it. The suit was ultimately dropped. Two women, Ellen Newlin Chase and Margaret Chase Perry, claimed that their mother Ellen — a nursery school teacher — had written the lyrics as a poem in the 1930s and they were used without permission. Warner Brother sought permission from a book of nursery rhymes that had published the poem, and they allegedly gave permission to the show to use it without ever consulting the family. ~ CBS
