Buyer Beware: No one would expect their “momager” to rip them off (or “dadager” in Britney Spears’ case and “husbandager” for Kelly Clarkson) but Jewel has an awful story to tell about her mom spending millions of Jewel’s money. Although Jewel’s mom and the others were relatives, a lot of the same applies to people who “help” the artist. Be sure to read the full story. This hits home even more as we were contacted by a band this week who had signed with a “manager” who charged them a flat fee of several hundred dollars A MONTH for a service – booking the band – they didn’t provide! Important to learn the difference between a “manager”, a “booking agent”, and a “talent buyer”, folks!

I attended one of the Celebrity Sidekick’s vocal contests at the Wild Goose Saloon, 1160 South Pikes Peak Drive, Parker, CO 80138 last Sunday. Very nice set-up. The Wild Goose has a super stage, lights and sound system – and good food! (Loved their French Fries!) The last show with the final 10 singers is set for Thursday, April 6th.
